Male yeast infection
Yeast infections are not only
for women. Men get them too. They just don't talk about it as much. There has
been many articles and books written about women and yeast infections. But not
much is said about men and yeast infections. Men can get yeast infections the
same way women do. However, they may not have noticeable symptoms like women do.
This is due to the fact that men tend to carry the yeast infection inside their
urethra. The urethra is the channel inside your penis that the urine travels
through to exit from your body. If you do develop symptoms of a yeast infection
the symptoms would include: • Burning around the head and tip of the penis. • Small red, itchy bumps can appear around the head and on the tip of the penis. • The tip of the penis may become very red and inflamed. • Thick, white discharge from
the penis. Occasionally, the discharge will have a yeasty smell. • Antibiotic use. This is less common in men than women, but extended antibiotic use in men can kill off the good bacteria that is holding the yeast in check. Once given the chance, the yeast will grow and flourish into a full blown yeast infection. • Diabetes. Men with diabetes
have a higher risk for yeast infection due to the higher levels of sugar in
their urine. Yeast thrives on sugar.
